PHNOM PENH (2 July 2008) – Moha Garuda FC picked up only their third win in the Cambodia Premier League with a close 3-1 win over Naga Corp FC at the National Olympic Stadium.
Ek Vannak’s early strike in the 23rd minute for Moha Garuda set the rhythm for the game but Naga Corp were quick to respond in the 38th minute off Ndjana Pierre for both teams to be on level terms at the break. But the restart saw a determined Moha Garuda to take the lead and they took only four minutes to go in front from A. Sila Sunday before A. Kenneth fought back for Naga in the 71st minute for the score to be at 2-2. However, four minutes to the end Loch Sophia slammed home the winner for Moha Garuda as they stayed off the bottom of the table with ten points from seven matches. In the meantime, there really was no contest in the match between Phuchung Neak FC and Phnom Penh Empire which saw the latter coasting to an easy 4-0 victory. Phnom Penh’s goals were scored by Keo So Ngan (11th minute), Chim Ratanak (42nd minute) and Chan Rithy (81st and 88th minute).
