HO CHI MINH CITY (18 March 2014) — Thai Son Nam made it their third Vietnam National Futsal Championship in a row for Thai Son Nam when they beat Sanatech Khanh Hoa 5-2 in the final on the weekend.
Despite the dominance showed by the visiting Khanh Hoa side in the opening quarter, they unexpectedly fell behind in the 12th minute when Tran Van Vu slammed home.
Trong Luan then put Son Nam 3-0 in front with a brace as captain Bao Quan then gave Son Nam a 4-0 lead going into the second half.
Khanh Hoa came out with all guns blazing for Thanh Phong and Minh Nhat to pull up to 4-2. But that failed to spark further revival as Quynh Toan, then grabbed the fifth goal for Son Nam to pick up the crown.
The win gave Son Nam their third title since 2012 and their fourth since 2009.
