JAKARTA (17 April 2008) – The Indonesian national Under-16 team conceded their third defeat in the Uruguayan Quinta (Under-17) Division when they went down 2-0 to league leaders River Plate.
River Plate, who has been in dominant form since the start of the league this year, have scored a total of 22 goals in just four matches. But in spite of their second defeat with the same score to the same side – the earlier was in a friendly in January – head coach Cesar Payovich was visibly pleased with the performance of his young chargers. This even though the young Indonesian side missed muffed a second-half penalty to settle for the final score line. “The team is playing with good schematics and that is certainly good news,” added Payovich. “But we still need to improve their aerobic capacity.” |
