BANGKOK (15 July 2009) – The Thailand national Under-23 side beat Pakistan 2-0 in a friendly that was played at the Thunderdome Sport Complex.
The SEA Games defending champions opened account in the 23rd minute through Keerati Kewsombat before Arthit Sunthornpit added the second goal from the penalty spot eight minutes later. Peter Reid, the head coach of Thailand said that he was pleased with the team’s performance although they did not score a lot of goals. For the record, Thailand have won the SEA Games crown seven times in a row. Meanwhile, the full Thai national side will meet Pakistan in a warm-up match – in preparation for their encounter against Liverpool on 22 July – at the same venue on Saturday. |
