BANGKOK (5 May 2018) – Thailand head coach Milovan Rajevac is ready for any team in Group B of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 even though it is widely regarded as the Group of Death for the championship this year.
Following the official draw for the meet three days ago in Jakarta, the defending champions who have won the title for a record five times, have been drawn against Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and the winning team from the qualifiers between Timor Leste and Brunei.
“Both groups are well-balanced,” said Rajevac. “We are ready to play any team but we won’t underestimate any of them. We have to play to our best in every game.”
Group A have Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos.
With this year utilising a new format of home and away matches in the group depending on the luck of the draw, Thailand will open their campaign with a taxing match against either Timor Leste or Brunei on the road on 9 November 2018.
Then it is a tough home game against Indonesia on 17 November in Bangkok before playing the Philippines four days later in Manila.
They will then wrap up their home game against Singapore on 25 November.
