BANGKOK (7 June 2014) – AFC Futsal Championship 2014 quarter finalists Thailand hoped to boost their pool of coaches as they completed a basic futsal coaching course for 18 candidates recently.
The AFC Futsal Level 1 Coaching Course was organised by the FA of Thailand (FAT) at the Kasem Bundit University in the Thai capital from 26 to 31 May.
The course was opened in the presence of Thailand’s national futsal team coach Victor Hermans and the general coordinator from FAT Voravit Sampacnayasafid.
Hermans said in his speech that he is pleased to organise the second AFC Futsal Coaching Course in Thailand this year in order to develop the game.
“Coaching is a very important part of development and the AFC are working very hard to improve this game in all of Asia.
“I’d like to thank the AFC and their Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Department for the support to organise the course,” said the Dutchman, who was at the helm of the Thai national team when they hosted the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2012.
AFC Elite Futsal Coaching Instructor Shamil Al Daghistani in his speech said Thailand are considered one of the best countries in Futsal across Asia and therefore education is important for its further development.
The Level 1 course is the basic course after which holders can go on to take the Level 2 and Level 3 certificate courses after fulfilling certain requirements.
