PHNOM PENH (14 Oct 2011) – Thailand showed that their win of the AFF Under-19 Championship in Yangon last month was no fluke when they beat the same Vietnamese side 3-0 on the third match day of the BIDC Cup at the National Olympic Stadium.
The Thais did not have to suffer the pain of having to go through penalties this time round when they made sure of the win off a brace from striker Pakorn Parmpak.
Pakorn gave Thailand a 1-0 lead right at the end of the first half before doubling it eight minutes to the end. Nitipong Selanon then wrapped things up with the third goal deep in injury time.
In the meantime, Myanmar held hosts Cambodia to a 2-2 draw.
Striker Thiha Zaw nailed the opening goal for Myanmar on 23rd minute as Prak Mony Udom found parity for the homesters with five minutes remaining in the first half.
Tum Saray then gave Cambodia the lead for the first time in the game in the 52nd minute before Myanmar grabbed the one point with the equalising goal from Yan Naiing Htwe.
