BANGKOK (23 May 2010) – Thailand fell to a 4-0 loss to FIFA World Cup hosts South Africa in a friendly that was played at the new World Cup stadium in Nelspruit.
South Africa are playing a series of friendlies in the run-up the FIFA World Cup next month where apart from Thailand, they will be playing against Bulgaria, Colombia and Denmark in the next few weeks. Siphiwe Tshabalala scored the first goal for South Africa with a curling free kick before Katlego Mphela grabbed a brace for the hosts to put them 3-0 in front at the half. The fourth and final goal for the South Africans came off Bernard Parker in the closing stages of the game. |
