BANGKOK (12 Oct 2010) – Thailand were overpowered 2-0 by visiting English side Leicester City at the Supachalasai Stadium on the weekend as the hosts look to brush up their preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 in December.
With Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson at the helm of Leicester City, the visitors scored twice in the first half – Martyn Waghorn (10th minute) and Paul Gallagher (34th) – for the win. Leicester are owned by Thai duty free retail King Power Group. Thailand’s best chance in the game came in the 40th minute when striker Sarayoot Chaikamdee went clear but sent his shot wide. Thailand’s chief coach Bryan Robson said his men did well but they looked exhausted after following matches s in the Thai Premier League, the League Cup and the FA Cup. “It was a good game and I’m happy with the result,” said Eriksson. |
