KORAT (12 Oct 2014) – Thailand picked up their second win in as many friendlies when they beat Thai First Division champions Nakhon Ratchasima FC 1-0 in a friendly that was played at the 80th Anniversary Stadium.
Livewire Chanathip Songkrasin scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute to make sure that Kiatisak Senumuang’s men are on the right track for the AFF Suzuki Cup which kicks off next week.
The win was the second for the Thais following their 3-0 victory over the Philippines a few days earlier.
In the meantime, Malaysia simply had no answer to Syria when they stumbled to a 3-0 loss at the Shah Alam Stadium.
The score at the half was 1-0 to Syria when Nadim Sabagh blasted in the lead after just four minutes.
And three minutes into the second half, the Syrians went further ahead through Sanharib Malk as Omar Khribin then completed the defeat for Malaysia with the third goal in the 67th minute.
Eight minutes to the end, the humiliation was completed when Fadhli Shas was red carded.
