KUALA LUMPUR (June 11, 2007) – The Malaysian National Women Futsal team will be heading to Bangkok next month as part of their preparation for the SEA Games which is to be held in Korat, Thailand at the end of the year.
Following from their first phase of training last month at the Wisma FAM, the Malaysian ladies will report for the second phase of training camp at the end of June under the tutelage of head coach Dali Othman. Normala Rashid, the head of the women’s unit of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) said that ten players have been axed from the first training phase. “There will be ten new faces in the next phase of training where it would seems that the talents available in women Futsal have been a little overwhelming,” said Normala. “We have lined up four matches in Thailand although our exact oppositions have yet to be confirmed at this time. “But the experience of playing in Thailand will be good for the women players where realistically, this will be their first international foray.” Towards making sure that the Futsal team will be competitive for the SEA Games slated for December this year, the team will also be heading to Macau in October for competitive exposure. |
