JAKARTA (10 Sept 2008) – The Indonesian national women’s team will head to Thailand next week in a bid to better prepare the squad for the AFF Women’s Championship in Vietnam on 8-20 October, 2008.
The trip to Bangkok has been slated for 16-21 September. “We have arranged for three friendlies in Bangkok,” said Grace Margareth, the team manager of the Indonesia national women’s team. “The team have been in training in Tangerang over the past month and they have made significant improvements after playing against four local teams.” They drew 1-1 against Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) in their first friendly before beating team Putri Bandung 3-0 in their second match. They then drew 3-3 against the U-14 Soccer School Indonesia (SSI)-Arsenal and then blasting Jabar – the recently crowned champions of the PSSI Women’s Championship – with a comprehensive 7-0 beating. |
