BANGKOK (March 31, 2007) – Asean Football Federation (AFF) President, Tengku Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Ahmad Rithauddeen Tengku Ismail, has been unanimously re-elected to lead the AFF for another term.
Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen, whose term will be for four-years, has been the AFF President since 1995. Dato’ Paul Mony has also been unanimously returned as the Honorary Secretary for another term. Four new Vice-Presidents were elected today. The four are Pengiran Matusin Matasan from Brunei, H.E. Ravy Khek from Cambodia, Juan Miguel Romualdez of the Philippines and Duong Vu Lam of Vietnam. Former Vice-President, Dato’ Vijit Getkaew, the ex-President of the Football Association of Thailand, has been appointed an Honorary Vice-President of the AFF. Meanwhile, Phouvanh Vongsouthi of Laos and Francisco Kalbuadi of Timor Leste have been appointed to the AFF Exco. The 14th AFF Congress was held at a leading hotel here today. |
