PHNOM PENH (3 May 2010) – A ten-minute blitz led Preah Khan Reach FC to a well-deserved 5-1 win over Wat Phnom FC on the fifth match day of the Metfone Cambodian League.
Khuon Laboravy had given Preah Khan the best of start with the first goal on eight minute but they failed to protect their lead when Rhean Pheareun found the equaliser for Wat Phnom in the 33rd minute for the score to be at 1-1 at the half. The breather would prove to be pivotal where after some sustained pressure Wat Phnom conceded an own goal through defender Nathan Nwaowu right at the hour mark. And shortly after going 2-1 in front, Preah Khan stepped up the pressure to score three further goals in a ten-minute blitz through A. Udorjianthony in the 63rd minute, Sam El Nasa (67th) and Chea Samnang (69th). The win allowed Preah Khan to move up to third from fifth at the table. In the meantime, Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC beat Khemara Keila FC 2-0 with goals from Edem Bryan in the 63rd minute and In Vichhika in the 65th minute. CURRENT METFONE CAMBODIAN LEAGUE STANDINGS 1.
