BANGKOK (12 Sept 2012) – A late Teeratorn Bunmatan penalty four minutes to the end gave Thailand a close 2-1 win over Laos in a friendly match that was played at the Supachalasai Stadium tonight.
But it was the visitors who drew first blood in the game when Laos – fresh from their 2-1 win over the Philippines a few days earlier – grabbed the lead off Sopa Chaichana early in the ninth minute.
With the score to Laos’ advantage at the half, Winfried Schaefer then tweaked the home team somewhat for Surachart Sareepim to blast in the equaliser in the 71st minute of play.
Then, came the penalty from Teerantorn in the 86th minute for Thailand to pick up their second win from two friendly games. They had beaten the Thai Premier League (TPL) All Stars 5-1 last month.
