Teerasil Equaliser Gives Muang Thong Draw Against Chonburi

BANGKOK (27 August 2012) – International striker Teerasil Dangda nailed a late equalizer to give SCG Muang Thong a valuable 2-2 draw against Chonburi FC in the Thai Premier League (TPL) at the Chonburi stadium last night.

Noppanan Kachaplayut had given Chonburi the lead when he scored from close range in the 33rd minute before Adnan Barakat equalized for Muang Thong eight minutes into the second half.

But Chonburi put their noses in front again in the 63rd when Pipob On-mo made good the cross from Adul Lasoh. Just when they thought they had the points in the bag, came Teerasil’s clever chip in the 77^th minute of play.

With the one point, SCG Muang Thong have now collected 58 points from 24 matches while second-placed Chonburi are ten points behind from the same number of matches played.

Defending champions Buriram United are on 43 points.

In the other matches of the week, Chainat FC beat ten-man Thai Port 2-0 at the Khao Plong Stadium with goals from Narongchai Vachiraban (57th minute) and then an own goal from Narat Muninnoppamart ten minutes later.

TOT SC drew BEC Tero Sasana 1-1 at the TOT Stadium as Army United beat Insee Police United 1-0 and Wuachon United battled Pattaya United to a scoreless draw.
