BANGKOK (22 Jan 2013) – Prolific striker Teerasil Dangda and explosive Futsal front man Suphawut Thuenklang were honoured at the Football Siam Golden Ball Awards last night.
Teerasil – currently on trials with Spanish club Atletico Madrid – was the Thai Premier League’s joint top-scorer last season alongside BEC Tero Sasana’s Cleiton Silva on 24 goals.
Supawut Thuengklang was voted the best Futsal player following his sterling individual performance at the FIFA Futsal World Cup last year.
In the meantime, Teerasil’s team SCG Muang Thong also picked up two other awards with the Thai Premier League champions winning the best coach award for Slavisa Jokanovic and also for Best Club.
The Most Valuable Player award went to Buriram United’s Apichate Puttan while team-mate Teerathorn Bunmathan took the Most Popular Player title.
Brazil’s Silva of BEC Tero was recognised as the best foreign player with team-mate Chanathip Songkrasin taking the award for Best Rookie.
The Best Women’s player award went to Wilaiporn Butduang.
