SINGAPORE (15 Jan 2015) – The FA of Singapore (FAS) are pleased to announce that Takuya Inoue has joined the National Football Academy (NFA) coaching set-up on a one-year contract, renewable for another year, and will be taking charge of the NFA Under-18 team.
The 47-year-old Takuya was the former assistant coach of J.League side Omiya Ardija, a club he joined in 2008. He had coached the Under-12 and Under-18 sides of Omiya Ardija before becoming the assistant coach of the senior side in J.League.
Prior to joining Omiya Ardija, Takuya was with then-J.League side JEF United Ichihara Chiba, taking charge of the club’s U14, U15 and U18 teams before becoming assistant coach of the senior side in 2000. He was also the assistant coach of J.League Division 2 club Brummel Sendai (currently known as Vegalta Sendai) in 1996, having also taken charge of the club’s U15 side.
Conversant in English and German in addition to his native language, Takuya was educated at German Sports University of Cologne (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln) and Osaka College of Physical Education (Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences). He is also equipped with Japan Football Association (JFA) ‘A’ Coaching License, the equivalent of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ‘A’ Coaching License.
Reporting to the General Manager of Youth Development S. Rajan and the FAS Technical Director, Takuya will be tasked with identifying youth players for further development with NFA sides, and recommend promising young players for overseas attachments on top of his primary role of coaching the NFA U18, and preparing the team for regional competitions.
