SINGAPORE (4 Nov 2016) – Four times ASEAN champions Singapore have lined up matches against Syria and Cambodia as part of their run-up to the AFF Suzuki Cup later this month.
Singapore head coach V. Sundram Moorthy announced a 28-man strong squad for the biennial championship this week and where they have confirmed a match against Syria in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia on 9 November.
The Lions will then take on Cambodia at the Bishan Stadium four days later.
“Since taking over the National Team, we experimented with different playing formations and styles and also gave opportunities to many players to prove themselves at the international level to be included in the final 23-man squad for the competition,” said Sundram.
“The opponents in our upcoming friendly matches are strong in different aspects and they will provide a good test for our boys. At the same time, the centralised training camp over the next two weeks will allow us to further strengthen camaraderie in the team.”
