PHNOM PENH (1 July 2016) – Preach Khan Svay Rieng FC will take on the Ministry of National Defense FC in the final of the Hun Sen Cup tomorrow.
The defending champions Svay Rieng dumped Phnom Penh 3-2 on penalties as National Defense FC blasted CMAC 3-0 in the other semifinal clash.
“It feels bad to lose on penalty kicks. Losing is always bad, but penalties are 50/50, and I thought with a bit more luck we could’ve won it. It’s been a bad week for me as a football fan,” said Crown coach Schweingruber following their loss to Svay Rieng.
In the meantime, CMAC held out as long as they could before Cambodian international Chhin Chhoeun found the back of the net for National Defense just a minute into the second half.
Keo Vannak then doubled the advantage in the 68th before Chhoeun got his second and National Defense’s third in the 79th minute.
