BANGKOK (22 April 2013) – Despite picking up just one point on the weekend, Suphanburi sprang a surprise to move up to second in the Thai Premier League (TPL) following their 1-1 draw against Army United.
Following the deadlock in the first half, Suphanburi drew first blood through Wuthichai Tathong in the 48th minute when he beat the offside trap.
But Army United kept their composure and ten minutes to the end, Chainarong Tathong nailed the equaliser. With the one point, Suphanburi have picked up 15 points from seven matches – three points behind leaders SCG Muang Thong United.
Elsewhere, Chonburi FC edged TOT SC 1-0 with the only goal of the game at the Chonburi Stadium coming off Anucha Kitpongsri in the 78th minute.
BEC Tero Sasana beat Bangkok Glass 1-0 at the Chalermprakiat Stadium while Insee Police United were held to a 1-1 draw by Songkhla United at the Thammasat Stadium.
