Stange Name Squad for Oman Tie

SINGAPORE (1 Aug 2013) – Bernd Stange, the chief coach of Singapore, has announced a squad of 23 players that will take on Oman for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers on 14 August at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

“It was not easy to finalise the squad but I am very pleased we have put together the team now. I am confident that these players have the capabilities to help the team achieve a good result against Oman. It is a well-balanced squad comprising experienced internationals and promising youngsters, including ten players from the triumphant LionsXII team which won the Malaysian Super League (MSL) title early this month,” said Stange.

“They have had a fantastic season for their respective clubs in the S.League, RHB Singapore Cup and Singapore League Cup campaigns, and they bring with them qualities which are very beneficial to the squad, as well as to the players themselves for their future.

“I am really delighted with the support from the FAS thus far, and we hope to see fans turn up to support us as we strive for a good result against a very strong Asian side in Oman at our stadium.”
