MANILA (14 April 2015) – Stallion strengthened their position in the top half of the United Football League (UFL) this week when they stomped 3-0 past Kaya FC at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Goals from Belinga Blanchard, Simone Rota and Balot Doctora in the second half gave Stallion the full points and a place on fourth at the standings.
Kaya still maintained their position on second at table where they are now on the same 18 points with Loyola and Stallion.
“We needed this win because the loss (to Ceres) took some momentum from us,” said Stallion coach Ernie Nierras. “We were a bit disorganized in the first half, but when we started to get compact, it got better in the second half.”
In the meantime, Green Archers United scored their third win in the league when they edged Pachanga Diliman 3-1.
Jess Melliza headed home the opener in the 44th minute, before Robert Lopez Mendy doubled the advantage with a penalty just before the break.
Substitute Chieffy Caligdong then sealed the full points with a 71st minute strike as Pachanga grabbed a late consolation goal from Nathan Octavio at the end.
