HO CHI MINH CITY (6 Jan 2014) – The Under-19 teams of both Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma overcame their respective opponents in the opening day of the Nutrifood Cup that was played at the Thong Nhat Stadium this evening.
Spurs came back from a goal down to score twice after the break to beat Japan 2-1 while Roma were all commanding when they edged Vietnam with a similar 2-1 scoreline in the second game of the day. Valerio Trani was on target in the 20th before the hosts got the equaliser off a Le Van Son’s penalty in the 34th minute.
But Trani made sure of the three points with the second goal for Roma just six minutes after the restart. They could have nailed a third but Adameo Matteo totally muffed his penalty five minutes to the end.
