PETALING JAYA (28 Oct 2015) – The FA of Malaysia (FAM) and Sportradar put pen to paper today on a partnership that will see Sportradar provide its Federation Management Platform (FMP), a ground-breaking tool kit of data-related products and services, to FAM for a period of three years.
The Federation Management Platform is made up of three core services:
The FMP Federation Management Tool: this will give FAM the ability to configure, plan and manage leagues, tournaments, schedules and venues. On top of this, the tool will facilitate management of competition and match-related personnel, including players and referees but also any external party accreditation.
- The FMP Data Collection Tool: this will allow FAM to administer its leagues from desktops and mobile devices. FAM will then be able to automatically generate extensive tables, statistics and top lists as well as comprehensive and automated match commentary including post-match editing and offline data collection.
- The FMP Data Visualisation and Commercialisation Tool: FAM will be able to distribute all game data and coverage across a plethora of widget solutions, while adding social media and CRM opportunities to increase and tailor the engagement properties of that data.
Speaking about the new partnership, FAM Deputy President, Dato’ Abdul Mokhtar Ahmad said, “We have been patient, surveying the market for an organisation that can really offer us a comprehensive, intuitive and powerful proposition in the field of data collection and leveraging. The world of sports data is an exciting one and we had to be sure that we were partnering with the best. With today’s partnership, not only is FAM embarking on a journey, but so are our fans and various stakeholders. What Sportradar can do is bring our data to life in a way that will excite and engage everyone who holds Malaysian football dear, whether at home or abroad”.
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl explained a little more about the FMP, “Our goal is establish the Federation Management Platform as the go-to platform for sporting federations across the world. It combines a number of areas that we, as company, excel at and allows us to provide a joined-up solution that makes life easier for rights holders but also maximises their existing assets. But all innovative products need a first user who has the ambition and imagination to see and grab the opportunity. So here we have the FA of Malaysia: by allowing us to take care of their data-related and federation management needs, they have not only freed up time and capacity to innovate and grow the game; they have allowed us to work with them creatively to ensure that their data comes to life and enriches the way their partners and fans interact with their game”.
