HANOI (21 Nov 2014) – With just hours away to their first match of the AFF Suzuki Cup tomorrow, the Vietnam national side took time off to revive the spirits after what would have been several hectic weeks of intensive training.
Toshiya Miura’s men paid a visit to the Monument of Heroic Martyrs nd also visited the home of General Vo Nguyen Giap who passed away last year at 102-years-old.
Nguyen Giap was the most prominent military commander, beside Ho Chi Minh, during the Vietnam War.
Vietnam will open their campaign in the AFF Suzuki Cup tomorrow with a toughie against Indonesia in the second game of the day.
The first match will see Philippines taking on Laos at the My Dinh National Stadium.
“I feel very honored and proud to visit the home and offered incense to the General and also commemorate the heroic people of Vietnam. I promise the entire team will play hard and will be determined to win every game,” added Miura afterwards.
