PHNOM PENH (24 June 2009) – Spark FC moved up to their highest ever position in this year’s Cambodia Premier League this week where a 2-0 win over Post Tel Club FC allowed them to improve to third from eighth.
With league leaders Preah Khan Reach FC maintaining their hold of the top spot with a 1-0 victory over Build Bright United, Spark FC made sure of the three points with a goal in each half. O. Olawaseun scored the opener on 23rd minute before Justine Uch Prince then wrapped things up with the second goal four minutes to the end. The victory for Spark was only their third win in eight matches. For Preah Khan Reach, they needed a late, late strike from international Sam El Naza in the 90th minute before they were able to edge Build Bright United 1-0. While the win allowed Preah Khan to remain at the top of the table with 19 points from eight matches, the defeat has now pushed Build Bright down to fourth.
