YANGON (10 June 2016) – Roger Reijners, the head coach of the Myanmar women’s football team, said that his chargers can only get better after succumbing to a 5-0 beating in a friendly against the South Korean women.
The team under the newly recruited Dutchman is being moulded for the AFF Women’s Championship at the end of July.
“This is a valuable opportunity for our team to compete against the South Korean side,” said Reijners.
“We can’t match our opponents (in this game) but there are many benefits to be had from competiting at this higher level,” he added.
“We can compete on good terms with ASEAN’s best teams – Vietnam and Thailand – and we’ll try hard to deliver a good result in the upcoming championship.”
