JAKARTA (12 April 2011) – Mercurial Boaz Solossa is back in the Indonesia national team set-up, following the confirmation from the Indonesia National Team Management (BTN) this week.
Iman Arif, the Deputy Technical Director of BTN said that with just a few months left to their first game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Turkmenistan, the recall for Solossa was imminent.
“I have already contacted Boaz and made the request that he should join the national team,” said Iman, of the player who is the current top scorer in the Indonesia Super League (ISL) with 20 goals.
Indonesia will take on Turkmenistan away in their first game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on 23 July 2011 before the return tie in Jakarta five days later.
Previously, Solossa was dropped from the national side preparing for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 by Indonesia chief coach Alfred Riedl for failure to attend centralised training.
In the meantime, Iman announced that Jacksen Tiago will be assisting Riedl in the national team while for the national Under-23 side, Rahmad Darmawan (Persija Jakarta) or Aji Santoso (Persebaya 1927) will be the assistant.
