PHNOM PENH (15 May 2009) – A double from striker Keo Sokngon put defending champions Phnom Penh Crown FC at the top of the Cambodia Premier League 2009 – after just two matches into the new season.
Phnom Penh, who had beaten Naga Corp FC 3-2 in their first game of the season, were unbridled in their second match as they blasted National Defense Ministry FC 4-0. Following a first-half deadlock, Sokngon then opened account in the 75th minute to set the ball rolling as Tieng Tiny added the second in the 77th minute and A. Tunji Ayoyinka the third goal two minutes later. Sokngon then pummeled in the fourth goal for Phnom Penh Crown six minutes to the end for good measure to push Kirivong Sok Seng Chey to second spot at the standings.
