HANOI (2 Dec 2017) – Song Lam Nghe An beat Becamex Binh Duong 5-1 for a 5-2 aggregate to lift their third Vietnam National Cup final in Vinh City.
It was also SLNA first silverware in six years.
Playing at home was all the motivation SLNA needed where in front of more than 30,000 fans, Phan Van Duc grabbed a double in the process.
The other goals for SLNA were scored by Kovacevic Danko, Olaha and Ho Phuc Tinh as Nguyen Anh Duc pulled a goal back for Binh Duong.
“Every victory is honourable, every cup is priceless. We have been waiting for a long time for this day,” said SLNA head coach Nguyen Duc Thang afterwards.
“We have a really wonderful match. We are better than them. My players showed their skills, techniques and spirit. They scored very well. We deserved to take the title.”
