SLNA COMFORTABLE AT TOP OF V-LEAGUE 2011

HANOI (19 May 2011) – A 4-0 demolition of Khanh Hoa this week has put leaders Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) in a comfortable position at the top of the V-League 2011 – four points ahead of nearest challenger SHB Da Nang’.

In the 14^th match day of the V-League that was played at the Vinh Stadium, striker Kavin Bryan gave SLNA the lead with the opener in the 23rd minute before Trong Hoang added the second goal of the afternoon from the penalty spot in the 67th minute.

Bryan then carved out his second goal of the afternoon in the 79th minute as Hodge then headed home in injury time for the convincing win.

With the full points, SLNA have picked up 32 points from 14 matches.

In the meantime, Da Nang kept up the chase at the top with a 4-0 win on the road over Ninh Binh at the Ninh Binh Stadium.

Gaston Merlo were on target twice for Da Nang in the 36^th and 46^th minute with Nicolas (44^th minute) and Dembele (67^th) scoring the others for the full points.

At Go Dau, Philani’s brace helped Binh Duong to overcome Navibank Saigon 3-1 as Dong Thap battled to a 1-1 deadlock against Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL).

Defending champions Hanoi T & T also failed to pick up the three points at home when they were held scoreless 0-0 by visitors Thanh Hoa at the Hang Day Stadium.

At the Lach Tray Stadium, Hai Phong also shared points with Dong Tam Long An following their 0-0 draw as Hanoi ACB edged Hoa Phat 3-2 in a local derby.
