MANILA (17 Feb 2012) – The Philippines national team conceded a slim defeat in their final friendly in the Tour of the Middle East – this time losing 1-0 to the Australian Under-23 team last night.
The team played a total of three friendlies in the Middle East, losing 3-0 to the Uzbekistan U23 team in their first game before bouncing back to beat Qatar’s Al Ahli FC 3-1.
But this time round, a solitary strike from Jason Hoffman in the 11th minute of play was the only high point in the game.
The Philippines are preparing for the AFC Challenge Cup in Nepal next month where they will be up against defending champions DPR Korea, India and Tajikistan.
