MANILA (4 April 2021) – The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) announces the schedule of the six (6) PFF Coaching Certificate Courses for the first half of the year.
The coaching courses offered are four (4) PFF ‘C’ Coaching Certificate courses, one (1) PFF ‘B’ Diploma, and one (1) PFF ‘A’ Diploma. The courses are under the auspices of the AFC Coaching Convention – A-Level membership. As a member of the AFC Coaching Convention, PFF is permitted to conduct the equivalent AFC ‘A’ and ‘B’ Diploma courses as the PFF ‘A’ and ‘B’ Diploma courses.
Due to the ongoing national government restrictions implemented in the country brought on by the pandemic, the courses will be conducted through a blended learning approach.
The courses are divided into two sessions: the theory sessions and the practical sessions. The theory sessions are held in an online webinar, while the practical sessions will be conducted in a central venue once the national government health regulations allow on-field football-related activities.
“We welcome all aspiring coaches to apply for the PFF coaching certificate courses offered for this year,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “The coaching certificate courses offer a valuable learning experience to enhance their capabilities in coaching their teams in their respective areas.”
PFF is offering these coaching courses to all aspiring coaches who are at least eighteen (18) years old, endorsed by a PFF Member Association, and can show proof of eligibility to the particular course through the following criteria:
- PFF ‘C’ Coaching Certificate – must be at least a Philippine Youth Coaching Certificate (PYCC, formerly NCCC/PYCL) holder or a former national team player or has played in PFL, UAAP, NCAA, or in other regular regional football leagues/tournament or has at least two (2) years basic coaching experience
- PFF ‘B’ Diploma – must hold an AFC ‘C’ or PFF ‘C’ Certificate for two (2) years
- PFF ‘A’ Diploma – must hold an AFC ‘B’ or PFF ‘B’ Diploma for two (2) years
