SINGAPORE (30 Dec 2016) – The Singapore Women’s team will play two friendlies against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in preparation for the AFF Women’s Championship in March.
A Singapore Selection team will play their counterparts from UAE on 4 January 2017 before the Singapore Women’s National team take on the same side on 6 January 2017.
Both matches will kick be played at the Jalan Besar Stadium at 7.30pm.
“We are thankful for the opportunity to play against the UAE Women’s National Team. Our Lionesses may be young with an average age of 22.6 years, but they are looking forward to taking on tough challenges like this, which will go a long way in preparing them for the upcoming AFF Women’s Championship 2017 in March,” said Yeong Sheau Shyan, the Head Coach of the Women’s National Team.
Both UAE and Singapore are also preparing for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2018 Qualifiers that will take place in April 2017.
