SINGAPORE (6 May 2019) – The Singapore national women’s football team came in second at the Arafura Games 2019.
In six matches played, the Singapore women’s team recorded three wins, one draw and two losses.
The team scored 8-0 and 7-0 wins in the first two matches against Timorese Fugees and NT Yapas respectively.
Despite losing their next game against Darwin Invitational, the Lionesses drew 0-0 in their last preliminary round match against the Koalas to seal a spot in the semi-finals.
In their second meeting in three days, the team beat Darwin Invitational 1-0 this time in the semi-finals to move on to the finals held on the same day.
The Lionesses eventually settled for second spot as the Koalas claimed a 3-0 victory.
