SINGAPORE (19 March 2017) – As part of Singapore’s Under-22 team’s preparations for the SEA Games 2017 in August this year, the FA of Singapore (FAS) have announced that the team will be playing in the Dubai Cup Under-23 – United Arab Emirates (UAE) International Football Tournament.
The tournament will be played in a round-robin format. Singapore will meet Jordan, UAE, Malaysia and Thailand on 20 March, 24 March, 26 March, and 28 March respectively.
“This tournament will be the first international game that our Under-22 National Team will be playing this year to prepare for the SEA Games and it will be good for the boys to play against these strong teams so that they can see how and where they can improve. In this preparation phase, it is vital that the boys learn from international games like these. What is important is their performance during the tournament, their spirit and determination to win the matches,” said Richard Tardy, the head coach of the U22 team.
