 SINGAPORE (11 April 2009) – The FA of Singapore (FAS) will be sending their Under-19 team to compete in an Under-21 Championship in Vietnam later in the year.
The tournament has been organized for the third straight year and where this time round, the meet will be held in Nha Trang City in August. Apart from Singapore, Malaysia will also be sending a team although the FA of Malaysia (FAM) have indicated that they will be using an even younger squad. In the meet last year, Iran beat Thailand 2-1 in the final to lift the crown and also take home the USD10,000 prize money as hosts Vietnam edged Singapore 1-0 for the third spot. |
