SINGAPORE (July 31, 2007) – The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) have named an 18-man squad for the Asean Football Federation Under-17 Youth Championships which kicks off tomorrow in Vietnam.
The tournament which is to be played in Ho Chi Minh City will see Singapore being placed in a tricky Group A up against defending champions Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos and Brunei DS. In Group B are Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and Timor Leste. Under the guidance of head coach Mike Wong, the young Singapore side will open their campaign against Malaysia – who have also opted to use their national Under-18 side – on Wednesday at the official venue of the Thanh Long Sports Complex.
