BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (20 March 2013) – Vjeran Simunic will lead Brunei for their qualifying round of the AFC Challenge Cup that will take place in Manila on 22-26 March at the Rizal Memorial National Stadium.
The Croatian – who is the chief coach of Brunei’s only professional club DPMM FC – is making a return to the national fold after handling them at the last AFF Suzuki Cup 2008 qualifying round in Cambodia.
For the AFC Challenge Cup, Brunei are in Group E against hosts Philippines, Cambodia and Turkmenistan. They will open their campaign in the qualifiers against the Philippines on Friday.
With Simunic (pix) at the helm, Brunei will be using mostly players from the DPMM FC squad.
