SINGAPORE (5 Sept 2016) – Singapore Under-21 Richard Tardy was pleased with the performance of his chargers in spite of the 1-0 loss they conceded to the Bahrain U21 in a friendly that was played at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium last night.
Following a first-half deadlock, Bahraini striker Abdulaziz Rajab slotted home the only goal of the game in the 59th minute to give the visitors the win.
“We had a good game and we showed good spirit,” said Tardy.
“I’m satisfied with the level of players like Shahrin (Saberin), Dhukhilan (Jeevamani) and especially Irfan (Fandi), who only had two training sessions with us.
“But we must still continue to improve. The problem with us is that we lose the ball too quickly after winning it back. Then we have to fight and run again to take it back again; that’s not possible at the highest level international game.”
