TAUNGGYI (3 Sept 2019) – Shan United seemed certain to land their second Myanmar National League (MNL) title in three years as they sit atop of the table going into the final game of the season in less than two weeks.
The Shan Warriors have amassed 43 points from 21 matches played – two more over second-placed Ayeywady United and three against third-placed and defending champions Yangon United.
The fact that Shan United have been unbeaten in 21 matches so far this season spoke volume of the side guided by Min Thu where they will complete the season with a home match against Rakhine United.
Ayeyawady will also be at home to Sagaing United as will Yangon, who will entertain Magwe at the YUFC Stadium.
Should Shan United win the MNL crown on 15 September, they will also have the chance to land the triple this year when they play in the final of the General Aung San Shield on 25 September.
Shan had earlier won the MFF Charity Cup earlier in the year when they beat Yangon United 5-4 on penalties. The score was 1-1 at the end of regulation.
