PHNOM PENH (9 Aug 2011) – A seven-goal thriller from striker Oiboh Julius led former champions Naga Corp FC to a thumping 11-1 win over strugglers Rithisen in the Metfone Cambodia League this week.
Oiboh was on target in the 13th, 34th, 42nd, 55th, 57th, 80th and 90th minute as Teab Vatanak (20th), Om Thavrak (67th), Kob Sa (76th) and Esoh Omogba (77th) scored the other goals for the win.
Rithisen’s only goal came in the Oum Veasna in the 11th minute.
But the win failed to push Naga to the top of the standings as current league leaders and defending champions Phnom Penh Crown FC were also on a winning streak when they edged National Police 2-0.
Sun Sovannrithy opened the scoring for Phnom Penh in the tenth minute before Takahito Ota added the second in the 23rd minute of play.
In the other matches, National Defense Ministry FC beat Chhlam Samut 5-1 as Preah Khan Reach FC overcame Prek Prea Keila FC 1-0.
Kiriving Sok Sen Chey FC strengthened their position in the top half of the table with a slim 2-1 victory over Build Bright United
