JAKARTA (8 Feb 2010) – The Indonesia national Futsal team will be playing in a series of friendlies and exhibition matches in the run-up to the ASEAN qualifying zone of the AFC Futsal Championship 2010 which will be held at the Indoor Tennis Stadium in Senayan on 20-25 February.
Their first friendly would be against the Bogor Agriculture Institute. “This university side is actually very good as afterall, for several of the players they are already playing in the Indonesian Futsal League (IFL),“ said Robby Hartono, the newly-appointed head coach of the Indonesia Futsal squad. “For a long time, we have only been playing against teams in and around Jakarta, so it is good that we head out once in a while. We are planning to play at least three friendlies before the start of the qualifying tournament. “After the game in Bogor, we will take on team Limus – a newcomer to the IFL.” Following that, the team will then take part in exhibition matches which will be played in Istora Senayan. “We will divide our team into two groups – one will play against the undergraduate selection team while the other will take on the league selection side,“ added Robby. “This is one of the ways in which we are doing to generate more interest in the game of Futsal and also garner support for the ASEAN zone qualifiers.” |
