SEMINAR FOR NEWLY APPOINTED FIFA MATCH OFFICIALS

Dato’ Sri Paul Mony Samuel, the general secretary of the AFF reiterated that the main objective in organising this course is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the newly registered FIFA referees and assistant referees in the ASEAN region on the latest updates in the Laws of the Game.

“I hope that the participants will use this course to improve themselves as they will be closely monitored and assessed by the three FIFA Instructors during the five day course,” said Dato’ Sri Paul.

“Based on your performance, some will be selected and recommended to officiate in future ASEAN organised tournaments. So I urged all the course participants to make full use of the five days here with the FIFA instructors and the latest teaching materials which they will be exposed to.”

Added Azimi Abdullah from FIFA Development Office, Kuala Lumpur Referees Assistant Program Officer explained: “this course is one of its kind organised by Asean Football Federation with FIFA’s assistance for ASEAN newly FIFA appointed Referees & Assistant Referees.”

A total of 26 participants attended from ASEAN countries where they were exposed to Theory, Video presentations of matches and practical sessions.
