JAKARTA (24 Jan 2013) – The Indonesia national team will take on Indonesia Premier League (IPL) champions Semen Padang in a friendly later today at the Baharudin Siregar Stadium in Lubuk Pakam.
Following the scoreless draw against another IPL side Pro Duta a few days earlier, this second friendly will allow chief coach Nil Maizar a better opportunity to tweak the side that will play in the qualifying round of the AFC Asian Cup 2015 early next month.
“There will not be any specific tactics that will be utilised for the match against Semen Padang,” said Fabio Oliveira, the assistant coach of Indonesia. “We just want to make sure that the players continue to put into play what they have done during training.”
Indonesia will open their campaign in the AFC Asian Cup 2015 qualifiers against Iraq at the Al-Ahli Stadium in Dubai on 6 February. Their other opponents in Group C are China and Saudi Arabia.
