KORAT (3 November 2024) – Thailand Futsal national team picked up their second win in Group A of the ASEAN Futsal Championship with a routing 7-1 finish over Timor Leste.
Following yesterday’s 13-0 victory over Brunei Darussalam, the host showed no let up in their second game of the competition as the early pressure saw Miguel Correia Lay Fernandes conceding an own goal in the third minute.
Thailand then stretched to a 4-0 lead at the half, off goals from Chaowala Sriarwut in the seventh minute, Amarin Akapan (12th) and Thanawat Koedbangrachan (13th).
Even though Timor Leste pulled a goal back in the 21st minute through Joao Paul Canizio De Sousa, the Thais then piled on the goals off Atippong Munphlai (24th), Therdsak Charoenphong (28th) and Atippong Munphlai (38th).
In the meantime, Malaysia ran out 11-0 winners over Brunei DS in an earlier match.
Syahir Iqbal Khan Akbar Khan fired in a hattrick (11th, 22nd and 36th minute) as Syed Aizad Daniel Syed Nasir (4th and 25th), Ridzwan Bakri (7th and 33rd) and Faris Johan (27th and 40th) were on the double each.
The other goals for Malaysia were scored by Awalluddin Mat Nawi (21st) and Abu Haniffa Hasan (26th).
