PEKANBARU (11 July 2012) – The Indonesian national Under-22 team scored their second win in Group E of the AFC U22 Asian Cup qualifiers when they edged 2-1 on the third match day at the Riau Main Stadium last night.
The side which had conceded a 1-0 loss to Australia in their first game of the qualifiers bounced back to beat Timor Leste 2-0 in their second tie before disposing of Macau 2-1 last night.
Midfielder Hendra Adi Bayauw was on target with a double (24th and 44th minute) as Macau then pulled a goal back after the break through Pang Chi Hang in the 63rd minute of play.
With the win, Indonesia are still third at the table in Group E behind leaders Japan and Australia who after three matches have amassed nine points and seven points respectively.
On fourth is Singapore, who last night drew Australia scoreless. They had begun their campaign in Group E with a 2-1 win over Timor Leste before losing 3-1 to Japan.
Fifth is Timor Leste, who has yet to pick up a point after three games, They are in the same boat as Macau.
