HANOI (23 Jan 2013) – It will be a long, tough year for Vietnam Futsal but the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have drawn up these specific programmes with an eye on the final of the SEA Games that will be hosted by Myanmar at the end of the year.
Vietnam made the final of the men’s Futsal event of the SEA Games in 2011 but they conceded an 8-3 loss to powerhouse Thailand.
The players will begin their preparation at club level with the Ho Chi Minh Futsal championship slated for 30 March – setting the tone for their participation in theAsian Futsal Clubs championship (15-25 April).
Less than two weeks later, the players will then take part in the National Futsal Championship on May 11-23 before they gather a week later in preparation for the Asian Indoor-Martial Arts Games 2013 that will be hosted by Korea on 29 June to 6 July.
The AFF Futsal Championship will be held in Thailand on 29 September to 8 October. Just prior to the SEA Games, the VFF are planning to host the International Futsal Cup 2013 in Ho Chi Minh City.
