HO CHI MINH CITY (12 June 2013) – The Vietnam Under-23 team beat their Myanmar counterparts 2-0 in a friendly that was played at the Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City last night.
Hoang Danh Ngoc gave the home team the lead after 32 minutes from inside the box off a Vu Minh Tuan cross.
Just two minutes after the restart, it was Minh Tuan’s turn to find the back of the net when he slammed in the square from Quang Hung.
“I am quite pleased with the result because Myanmar played well, but I am disappointed that we squandered some good chances,” said coach Hoang Van Phuc after the game.
The game was a definite improvement for the Vietnam youngsters after losing to V-League side Dong Nai 3-1 on the weekend.
